Five Fully Paid Scholarships

Tuition, accommodation and meals at S & S School of Technical Skills — one student from each ward in Kajiado South.

How this happened

One Video. One Stranger Watching. Five Futures.

We ran an empowerment session and put the video out the way we put everything out, without expecting anything back. A lady in Nairobi came across it on TikTok.

She runs S & S School of Technical Skills. She watched the young people in that video, saw what they were up against, and offered to sponsor five of them through her school outright: tuition, a place to sleep and food on the table.

No handouts, no strings. A real skill, paid for in full, for five young people from Kajiado South who could not otherwise afford it.

What the scholarship covers

Everything That Usually Stops You

The sponsorship covers any course S & S offers. You will not be asked for a shilling at any stage of this process.

Full tuition

Any course offered at S & S School of Technical Skills, from makeup and pastry to barista work, epoxy crafts and the AI programmes. You choose.

Accommodation

A place to stay for the length of the course, so distance from home is not the reason you miss out.

Meals

Food covered while you train, because nobody learns a trade hungry.

You must be from Kajiado South

This is not open countrywide, and we will not make an exception. We are taking one student from each of the five wards and no more. If you are not a resident of Kajiado South, please leave these five places for the young people they were meant for, and watch this space for the next round.

  • Kimana
  • Rombo
  • Kuku
  • Imbirikani
  • Entonet-Lenkisim

One seat per ward. Five seats in total.

How we choose

Transparent, and In the Open

We would rather tell you exactly how this works than have anyone wondering whether it was decided in advance. It was not.

  1. Apply here

Fill the form below. Everything we ask for is on this page, and applying is free.

  2. Ward by ward shortlisting

We read every application and shortlist within each of the five wards separately, so you are never competing with the whole county.

  3. Vetting in Kimana

Shortlisted applicants are invited to our offices in Kimana, at the Sankale Building, for a face-to-face conversation.

  4. Five names, published

One student per ward is selected and reported back publicly. You will hear from us either way.

Shortlisting and vetting happen at our offices in Kimana — Kimana, Sankale Building, Next to OLA Petrol Station, Kajiado South, Kenya. Only shortlisted applicants are invited, and we will call or text you on the number you give us.

Apply

Put Your Name Forward

Take your time with the last question. It is the one we read first, and it is what gets people shortlisted.

We never ask for money at any stage of this scholarship, and we will never ask you for your ID number or bank details on this form.

Know Someone Who Deserves This?

Five places, five wards, and plenty of young people in Kajiado South who will never hear about it unless somebody tells them. Share this page with one of them.
